On October 8, 2020, the ARF presented an industry-leading virtual celebration of the ARF David Ogilvy Award winners which simultaneously acted as the first official platform of the ARF WIDE initiative.
The ceremony featured vignettes from selected ARF David Ogilvy Awards finalists, where they shared the journey of their creative process and how data/consumer insights impacted their decision making. Attendees gained exclusive access to the Grand Jury room to see just what went into the extensive deliberations.
All proceeds from the 2020 awards went directly towards WIDE, the ARF’s newly established charitable foundation to increase the quality and diversity of our industry. Contributions went towards scholarships, internships and access to the industry.
The ARF is currently accepting both personal and corporate donations to ARF WIDE.
The ARF David Ogilvy Awards is the only award show that honors the research- and analytics-driven insights that lead to successful ad campaigns.
The awards pay tribute to the late David Ogilvy, ultimate “mad-man,” founder of the agency Ogilvy, and creator of some of the biggest fundamentals in advertising that are still being used today. With these awards, we celebrate his forward-thinking belief in the importance of research behind effective advertising.
As Ogilvy once said, “Advertising people who ignore research are as dangerous as generals who ignore decodes of enemy signals.” We couldn’t agree more.
