What Do We Know about Gender and Diversity?
Editor-in-Chief John B. Ford summarizes the articles in this edition’s theme section on gender and diversity in advertising — “a subject that has been a part of my life for most of my academic career,” he notes. Yet, “the psychological dimensions of gender are both more subtle and more complex” now than in the past. Dr. Ford also acknowledges the universal impact of COVID-19. “We marvel at the adaptive nature of the advertising and research industries as they evolve to meet the changing needs of the marketplace.” He concludes with the belief that “our long-standing partnership with the Advertising Research Foundation will be stronger than before given the lessons we all are learning.”
