Mobile now accounts for 30% of eCommerce transactions globally, according to a new report from Criteo. Among the trends highlighted:
- Mobile is not just for research. Shoppers are making mobile purchases in all categories, with high adoption seen in the fashion and luxury (30%) and travel (27%) categories.
- The top quartile of retailers generate 35-40% of transactions from mobile.
- The majority of mobile transactions are now on smartphones. While tablets have higher conversion rates, smartphones have significantly higher traffic.
- In many categories, mobile average order value is close to desktop order value levels.
