In the first half of this Salon Series event, Kelly Castellon, senior manager of multi-touch attribution at Nielsen, interviewed Maryann Stockard, a consumer insights manager at Zillow. Kelly asked Maryann about managing work relationships—particularly with senior executives, how her work life has changed as a result of the pandemic and how she evolved to meet those challenges. Staying in touch and working to maintain healthy professional relationships is essential, according to Mayann.
The second half of the salon began with Gaz Alushi, head of marketing science research at Snap, Inc. He gave a small presentation about Snapchat’s findings in evaluating Gen Z. “This is the first generation to have a smartphone growing up,” he said. Not only are they totally at ease with technology, Gaz said that, “…social responsibility is the center of everything that they think about.”
Gen Z also takes what their friends say seriously, especially when it comes to recommendations. After his presentation, Gaz interviewed Briana Willis, founder of BeeSol Business Academy, and Ari Mayhew, a rising senior at NYU. Gaz explored Briana and Ari’s buying habits and how they interact with ads on social media. Influencers definitely get their attention. The interviewees also focused on the importance of relevancy and personalization when it comes to online ads, although too much personalization can feel “creepy.
