Committee and Jury Criteria
The ARF has many review committees/juries for a variety of events and award programs.
AUDIENCEXSCIENCE – BOARD OF CURATORS
AUDIENCExSCIENCE is ARF’s largest annual conference, with a broad focus on audience-measurement. A curator has expertise in media, measurement, consumer insights, data and/or digital. The curators are typically made up of ~30-45 ARF members.
The objective of the Board of Curators is to score submissions entered during an industry Call for Content and share their insights on which research submission would best fit to present at the AUDIENCExSCIENCE conference. The curators include all ARF member constituents: Research, Marketer, Media, Agency, and Association/Academics.
Criteria and Expectations:
- All job levels are included on this committee through C-suite.
- Encouraged to promote the Call for Content and conference via social media and internally.
- Ability to commit four hours to review/score ~15-30 submissions in addition to a one-hour meeting to discuss the status of their assigned topics.
- Typically an ARF members-only committee.

- Encouraged to promote the Call for Nominations and Award Ceremony via social media and internally.
- Ability to commit 1-3 hours to review and score ~5-15 nominations in addition to a 30-minute meeting to discuss the status of their assigned nominations.

ARF DAVID OGILVY AWARDS – CATEGORY JURY
A Category Juror has strong knowledge of uncovering and analyzing consumer insights and/or the conception and creation of a successful advertising campaign. The Category Jury is typically made up of 40-80 individuals and has diverse levels of experience to offer a broad scope of evaluation. It includes all ARF member constituents: Research, Marketer, Media, and Agency, and Association/Academics.
The objective of the Category Jury is to determine the rankings of entries in each category (Gold, Silver, and Bronze). The Category Jury has the first round of review for all entries submitted and are assigned by topic interest.
Criteria/Expectations:
- Is a manager level or higher at their organization, through C-Suite.
- Ability to commit ~3 hours to review/score anywhere from 15-25 entries via our portal.

ARF DAVID OGILVY AWARDS – GRAND JURY
A Grand Juror is an industry leader and major player at their organization who values research and insights in addition to the creative “spark” to ignite a successful campaign. The Grand Jury is a small, select group of reviewers, usually made up of ~12-20 individuals.
The objective for the Grand Jury is to determine a single Grand Ogilvy Award (Grand Prix) winner from the Gold Winners. The Grand Jury does not review all entries, only the Gold Winners determined by the Category Jury.
Criteria and Expectations:
- Is high level influencer at their organization (usually VP through C-Suite).
- Ability to commit to ~2-4 hours of content review, plus one 90-minute virtual Grand Jury Meeting, and a follow up one-hour meeting with top Grand Winner candidates.
- The majority of Grand Jurors are members, though non-members do sometimes participate.
