Even before the pandemic, the amount of time consumers spent with the major social media platforms had been growing rapidly. Brands’ use of this medium has rapidly grown as well. At the same time, knowledge about the way these platforms are used and measured has not kept pace. The Social Council aims to help the industry learn more about this medium and the ways that it can be used to help brands flourish and understand their audiences.
The Council provided an advance copy of its Social Media Measurement Field Guide at this event on Tues., June 29. The Field Guide covers the metrics used to plan and evaluate social media, the methods used to measure those metrics, and differences in the ways that the major types of social media (Paid, Owned, Earned, and Influencer) are planned and evaluated.
During this session, the authors of the Field Guide will revealed what they consider to be the 10 key takeaways from the Guide.
