A component of media buying that specifically deals with the timing of advertising exposure, including reach, frequency, daypart and demographics. In other words, media buying strategies applied to the timing of advertising. Media can be purchased so that advertising is shown to consumers at certain times of day, in certain positions during programming, at certain placements within a commercial break and so forth. Scheduling often considers several factors, including the advertising objective, the budget and competitor scheduling.
