Community & Events Manager
About the position
We’re looking for a Community & Events Manager to join our team and take on the responsibility for proactively developing, managing, and leading member facing programs. This role will also focus on developing and maintaining MSI’s community of participants in these programs and ensuring members are engaged and participating. The role will develop personal relationships with key stakeholders from across Fortune 500 companies.

This position will report directly to MSI Managing Director
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate work preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Exhibits a strong understanding of marketing research/science
- Demonstrated experience in creating and shaping program content for professional audiences
- Customer-focused, approachable: the ability to adjust to member company needs and build relationships and programs; adapt to changing requirements and different member priorities
- A motivated, proactive, resourceful individual with the ability to take direction and work independently
- Proven ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication – enjoys communicating with others
- Excellent organization skills, detail oriented
- Well versed in MS Office
- Strong meeting organization and facilitation skills
- Experience using data, research and scientific methodologies to solve problems is a plus
Responsibilities
- Create programs and events featuring cutting-edge marketing science content for the MSI community – in person, virtual and hybrid programs
- Deliver value to members by listening for and understanding MSI member company priorities and utilize in the development of programming, collaboration, and community
- Help MSI staff identify academics and corporate speakers to share relevant research with the MSI community through programs, collaborations, events
- Develop program agendas
- Facilitate peer-to-peer networking among corporate members of the MSI community and with academics for meaningful collaborations, including MSI’s signature Round Table program
- Establish and execute against a defined content calendar
- Co-plan with colleagues on larger scale programs; be a strong team player, including working with key stakeholders to determine success criteria
- Refine and develop programming through data, feedback, and analysis
- Maintain all key documents in CRM system
- Prepare regular reports for management
- Work closely with internal and external events team on the execution of events
