Survey

A method for obtaining information about a population by administering a consistent set of questions to a target sample of individuals in that population. A survey can be a noun when referring to questionnaires or a verb when relating to the activity of gathering information through questionnaires. Also, surveys can be administered in a number of ways, including by in-person, by telephone or online. (See “Survey Research”).
