1. What is your proudest professional accomplishment? 
My proudest professional accomplishment was being promoted into my AE role. I always knew I wanted to be in a direct sales role, and after many years of hard work I was able to achieve that.

2. What is your biggest professional challenge?
I actually decided post-college that I wanted to go into advertising, and it is a really tough industry to break into! I didn’t have an advertising degree

 3. How has being an ARF YP member impacted your career?
Being a part of the ARF YP is a great way to zoom out and get a macro view of what is going on in the industry. Research is such an important aspect of the work that I do in Ad Sales, and the ARF has given me the insights needed to succeed.

4. What’s your favorite event that you’ve been to?
My favorite event was the January bootcamp which featured an array of compelling speakers including the digital analyst from the Chicago Blackhawks, the director of analytic solutions at NPD group, as well as the general manager of operations from the Chicago Cubs. It was really interesting to hear about how research and analytics impacts so many various positions and industries.

5. When researching a topic you know nothing about, how do you get started?
I typically start with an internet search. I am always surprised about how many great free resources I can find. From web series to information hubs, there are plenty of different reliable sources of information. The digiday WTF series is a really great way to learn about topics as they pertain to advertising. I have found that very useful in my career. The IAB is another great resource for information and trainings.

6. What’s an example of a company/brand that you think is doing a great job?

I think we are all pretty impressed with what Amazon has been able to accomplish in the last few years. From the e-commerce space, to voice (Alexa), to streaming, and now with grocery. They were a hot topic at the last ARF Shopper x Science event here in Chicago, and for good reason. I am excited to see what they do in the coming years.

7. What is your favorite restaurant in your city?
My favorite restaurant in Chicago is a small restaurant in Lincoln Park called “Range.” They serve delicious farm to table seasonal food and it is never too busy to get a table.

8. What is your favorite show/program?
I recently started Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu. It is pretty dark, but incredible acting and very compelling.

9. What’s your dream job? (If money was no object, what would you do?)
To travel the world and blog about various different cultures and traditions.
