The first cohort of WIDE Scholars have graduated, and they are beginning to embark on their careers. Take a moment to get to know a little more about our future workforce.
Katelyn Rine Marketing The Ohio State University (Graduated May 2022) What inspired you to pick your current major?I knew I wanted to major in something related to business, and I liked that marketing can be both strategic and creative. I changed my major a couple times before I chose marketing. Once I started my marketing classes, I knew I had found the right major. How has being in the ARF WIDE Program affected your career path or university studies?It was an honor to be a part of the ARF WIDE Program. Attending ARF events with my Young Pro Coach sparked my interest in research, which lead me to where I am today! Tell us about your new position! What is your role and where is it? What will you be doing?I am a Research Intern at A+E Networks! It is a summer internship that is fully remote. I am working in cultural research. If money were no object, what would your dream job be?If money was no object, I would want to travel full time. Traveling is my favorite thing to do. I would love to have a blog about solo female travel. Where do you see yourself in five to ten years?In five to ten years, I see myself having a very satisfying career in research and analytics. I also hope to have the flexibility to travel often. What is your favorite hobby? Why do you enjoy it?My favorite hobby is hiking. I enjoy being in nature and staying active. What is something you would tell your younger self?I would tell my younger self to work hard, put myself first, and trust my intuition. I would also tell my younger self to not be afraid to show interest and enthusiasm. |
