Edison Research reports that total audio time listening to podcasts increased, among Americans who listened to at least 1 podcast in the past 24 hours. For the first time, podcast listeners “are now listening to more podcast audio than any other form of audio.”
“While some of the shift in podcast listening has come from other forms of media (in particular, AM/FM Radio,) much of it is simply new listening, as podcast consumers continue to bring their podcasts with them into environments and settings where they previously might not have consumed audio.”
