Manuel Garcia-Garcia, PhD. - Global Lead of Neuroscience, Ipsos

Manuel Garcia-Garcia,PhD is SVP at the Neuro & Behavioral Sciences Center of Excellence at Ipsos. Manuel provides strong academic credentials combined with outstanding expertise in insights and consumer neuroscience for the development of ground-breaking solutions for Ipsos’ clients. Formerly SVP, Research and Innovation at the Advertising Research Foundation and Neuroscience Director at Nielsen, he has developed thought leadership to shake the industry in various fronts, including mobile ad effectiveness, cross platform advertising, multicultural marketing and other applications of neuroscience to consumer research. 
He has been featured in multiple industry events such as Advertising Week, ARF ReThink! and Audience Measurement, ESOMAR, Neuromarketing World Forum, Univision Leading the Change, Nielsen C360 among many other global conferences. He has also led symposiums at international conferences and workshops with advertisers and agencies, including P&G, Levi’s, Unilever, Deutsch and Kellogg’s.
Dr. Garcia-Garcia is also an Adjunct Professor of Consumer Neuroscience in the graduate school of NYU. He has developed the first textbook in Consumer Neuroscience published by MIT Press.
 Dr. Manuel Garcia-Garcia received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Barcelona in 2009.  His graduate work was conducted in collaboration with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Bulgaria, EU) and the National University of Singapore (Singapore). From 2005 to 2010, he focused his cognitive neuroscience research on realizing the role of dopamine-related genes in the control of attention, furthering the understanding of the neurophysiological markers for attention disorder. From 2011-12, at the Institute of Pediatric Neuroscience at New York University Langone Medical Center, he spearheaded the development of a critical analysis based on resting-state fMRI.
  At the conclusion of his studies, Dr. Garcia-Garcia received the prestigious Extraordinary Doctorate Award, from the University of Barcelona, in recognition of his premier scientific achievements during his training period. His significant research contributions have also been internationally recognized through publication in leading professional journals, such as NeuroImage, Neuropsychologia and the European Journal of Neuroscience. Dr. Garcia-Garcia is fluent and proficient in English and Spanish.
