Social Network Analysis views Big Data in terms of network theory, consisting of nodes (representing individual actors within the digital network) and ties (which represent relationships between the individuals, such as Facebook friendships, hyperlinks, or Twitter responses) These networks are often depicted in network diagrams, visualizations that synthesize the tide of social network chatter into discernible, actionable research.

Visualization of social networks is now coming online to make sense of Big Data and convey the results of analyses through emerging, open-source programs. For example, NodeXL is a widely used Excel back-end module; it is one of the leading analytic software modules for network visualization.

This webinar will present the fundamentals of Social Network Analysis. It will provide sample Twitter and Facebook maps and show how they may be used for enhancing advertising research on the socialmediaosphere.
