A way of describing individuals or groups based on psychological dimensions, rather than demographic, geographic or product purchase dimensions. Psychographic dimensions can include beliefs, attitudes, interests and motivations which may be helpful in understanding consumer motivation (see “Consumer Motivation”), buying behavior and response to advertising.
