In media and market research, a short discussion between the researcher and study participant(s) following the conclusion of an experiment, survey or interview, with the intent of identifying opportunities to revise or refine the study design and/or participant experience. A similar process occurs with sponsors and clients called “debriefing”. Can also refer to market research interviews with movie theater patrons as they are leaving the theater.
