Three Days of Back-to-Back Councils in the Windy City

Responding to members’ requests, the ARF will bring three days of back-to-back Council discussions to the Windy City, for the first time.

Council Chairs
Council Chairs: Corey Jeffery, Mike Hess and Ned Greenberg

When ARF Director of Membership Marc Nightingale met members in San Francisco and Chicago last year to find out their greatest needs, he came away with a clear message: members in those cities wanted more council meetings to be held in their neck of the woods.

In the past, it was rare to have a council meeting outside of New York.

“After hearing what our members requested,“ Marc said, “I put together a game plan for Chicago and Los Angeles. Building on the enthusiasm from our March 19th council meeting, we planned a first-ever triple-header for next week. Afterwards, we‘re off to Los Angeles on June 10th (Audio) then returning to Chicago in July (Multicultural Council) and August (Engagement).

Here’s a rundown of the triple header:

On May 13, Corey Jeffrey, manager of the digital ad sales research group for MTV Networks, will chair the Advertising Effectiveness Council. It will look at how multiple sources of data on advertising effectiveness can inform media planning and evaluation.

Ned Greenberg, vice president of research at The Weather Channel, will follow up on May 14, by leading a Video & Electronic Media Council called, “Video Metrics for Today and Tomorrow: What Do We Want and What Do We Need?” The discussion will focus on how the latest changes in the video world will affect consumers’ media usage and receptivity to ads.

And on May 15, Mike Hess, the global market director of OMD, will chair the Media Effectiveness Council on channel planning, factoring in new knowledge of consumers.

Each event will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 CDT. Council meetings are an exclusive benefit for ARF members. Make a reservation by e-mailing councils@thearf.org. Space is limited, so make your reservation as soon as possible. To attend virtually: Register online at WebEx.

While Marc points out that councils can always be enjoyed via the web, there’s nothing like face-to-face interaction, and welcomes all local ARF members to attend in person.
